It's cheap as hell, and as you know my finances are a bit shyte at the moment... but I hate the store.  Hate it beyond all reason.  Once upon a time Wal-Mart had at least a *few* standards... but they've all gone to hell in a handbasket in the past ten years or so.  The cashiers are rude, but I would imagine that that might have something to do with them being paid peanuts and treated like shit.

Still, I have a tendency to go there for cheap clothing and such.

'Till now.

...yeah, I think I'll be haunting the Goodwill Outlet or just making my own damned clothes from now on.

A couple of years ago we decided to not shop there if we could possibly avoid it. I haven't been in a Wal-Mart since then. I shop for inexpensive clothes at Goodwill and other thrift stores.

I just can't deal with the store - I have nothing against people shopping there, I just can't do it anymore.

Is it REALLY that much cheaper than Target? I stopped shopping at Walmart cold turkey after some really bad customer service experiences -- and it wasn't just that they were bad experiences, but that it was clear that Walmart staffed and set policy to facilitate that kind of bad experience. So now I can't boycott them for all the really messed-up stuff that they do b/c I stopped shopping there for selfish reasons :-p.

BTW: That story made me nuts when I first read it. Sure, Walmart should have had better security, but I think everyone who shoved through that door should have been brought up on charges. WTF? Standing in line all night for a $10 stereo (or whatever) and then INJURING people to get it? I'm not willing to call people like that human.

I refuse to buy groceries from Walmart. Every time I buy any kind of produce or boxed items, I always find bugs in them. Like millworms, pillbugs, etc. It's so gross. I even found it in the aluminum foil once!

I've been shopping at the Giant Eagle chain (out of Pittsburgh). Granted, the prices are a bit higher. But no bugs. Plus fuel perks. ($.10 off per gallon when you buy $50 of groceries/gift cards)
