Once, I had a math teacher, who convinced this preppy cheerleader type girl in my class that a femur, was a wild mountain cat. That was in seventh grade. She still won't go hiking because of the femurs.

therealljidol is a writing contest patterened off of a reality game. For several months we have weekly-ish topics. Everyone writes an LJ post on the topic and links it back to the community. We read everyone's posts and vote. Most weeks non community members can also vote - so you can support your friends even if you're not playing. There are sometimes odd twists and turns along the way, but in general the person or specified number of people with the fewest votes are eliminated that week. Eventually we have one winner, who gets bragging rights and the right to use an icon proclaiming him/her the winner.
