If you're going to comment on my journal, please have the balls to tell me who you are.

Especially if you're going to be a self-inflated, pathetic, blowhard little piece of shit.  When I tell you that you can go fuck yourself, I tend to like to know who I'm talking to.

I think you can set your journal and/or individual postings to forbid anonymous comments, if that helps.

Anon flames usually = Troll and thus hardly worth your time.

Yeah, I DID just have all anon comments screened... but then they still came to my email inbox so I still have to SEE the hateful abuse that people spew when they get keyboard courage.

I went ahead and disabled anonymous comments completely, and required that any comments not on my friends list would be screened. I hate doing that because I have a few friends who don't have LJ's, and one friend who used to comment once in a while (and she'd actually PUT her name) who doesn't have an LJ. She doesn't come around much lately though and she can typically see my entries on Facebook anyway, and the only anon commenters I've had lately have been trolls. Some of them trolls that I'm RELATED to, but trolls nonetheless.

The people I know who have had trouble with anonymous comments have usually had trouble with people they know, just somebody mean with a grudge who wants to be a shit.

The exception is thedruidbear, who I think attracts random conservative trolls to his political posts and then enjoys debating them :).
