I may be getting a new roommate.



Her name is Sapphire and she's deaf.  If we get her, Chris will have to be the financial backup for if she needs anything (and, as of right now, she will... she needs a good de-worming and a flea treatment, and then spayed in a few weeks.)  We haven't made a decision yet, but we're gonna talk more about it.

But isn't she ADORABLE?! =D

I miss having a kitteh.  I've never had a deaf kitteh before, but that should be an interesting experience.  Since I actually hear TOO well (and don't see very well at all), it'll be different for me to deal with someone who can't hear. 

I'm kinda excited. =)  Even tho we haven't made a decision yet. ;)  Hey, Kandice, are you still reading?  Maybe you can teach her sign language. ;) (although the lack of opposable thumbs may be an issue.)

So sweet!!! My mother had a deaf kitten as a little girl and talked about her all the time. I think she just might have been the best cat ever.

Yeah, white haired, blue eyed mammals are typically deaf. (Except if they're humans, interestingly enough.) She is highly adorable! Do you have a name picked out yet?

If you will need/want to train her to stay off of things, might I recommend trying vibrations, since noise cues won't work? Hit the surface she's on and not supposed to be, try stomping on the floor....not sure how well this work work in an apartment, but it's just a suggestion :P Hissing working rather well with hearing felines, but this does indeed seem a challenge!

I forgot about Ash. =( And I kinda already committed to Sapphire (and I can't really keep two right now.) She's sortof in urgent need... she really needs to be de-wormed and her current owner can't afford it... and there are some other issues. I'll email you.
